Another Submission Went Out

Another submission went out this morning. This one was for one of my books that would be considered romantic comedy. Cross your fingers, dot your i's. Let's hope we get a bite on this one.

Agent left a message.

Just received an update that my agent left a message with a publisher who I really REALLY want to be published with. Please pray that when the editor reads my story, they will not be able to put it down.

I know it's late or early, depending on where you are but I couldn't sleep. Now back to my manuscript.

My First Rejection (But There's an Up Side)

Ladies and gents, I got my first rejection last week. After I crawled in the bed and soaked for a little bit, I came out of my shell. The good news is they didn't say the writing sucked; just that it was more of a thriller than a romance. It was marketed as romantic suspense and although the story does have romance in it, just not enough for ABC publisher. I'm looking at the positive side--the writing was good, just not the genre they are looking for.

My agent is going to submit it to another publisher. Wish me luck.

Romantic Suspense Novel

I'm sitting on the edge of my seat as my agent prepares to send my manuscript out to publishers. I pray that an editor loves my story and I can report to you about a book deal within the next few months.

My Characters

As I go through another round of edits, I have to remember that I know my characters like the back of my hand--its the reader who is learning them. My agent has pointed out a few things and I must say that the story does read better. It reads like a book I would want to read (and I'm not just saying that because it's my book).

Who are some of your favorite characters from books? What makes them unforgettable?
